Plan the timing

   Book early

   Ask about availability as soon as you know your dates. Units go fast around the end of the month.

2. 2

   Plan for 6 months or more

   The minimum stay is 6 months, which suits a rebuild, a big renovation or a move overseas.

3. 3

   Move in once

   Book the movers to drop at the unit on the way out of the old house.

4. 4

   Pack for the move out

   Load what you need first at the front, so the new house gets set up fast.

5. 5

   Give notice

   After the minimum stay, check the notice period so you're not paying for days you don't need.

During a reno

Building dust gets into everything. Seal boxes with tape, cover furniture with sheets and move it out before work starts, not halfway through. Things in storage also stay out of the way of tradies and their tools.
