Car storage in Christchurch

A classic car, a project car, or the second car while you're overseas. Indoor storage keeps it out of the sun, rain and salt air.

Size check

Our units are 9 m by 3.5 m, so a car fits with room to open the doors and work around it. A long ute or van fits too. Send the height with any roof racks in your quote request and we'll confirm the door clears it.

Storage checklist

Wash and dry it, inside and out
Top up the oil and coolant, and run the fuel tank low
Pump the tyres to the top of the recommended pressure
Disconnect the battery or fit a smart charger if power is available
Leave the handbrake off and chock the wheels, so the pads don't stick
Put a breathable cover on it, never a plastic sheet
Tell your insurer it's in storage and check your cover

Registration and WoF

If the car will sit for months, you can put the rego on hold through the NZTA. Check the rules before you do, and remember you'll need a current WoF to drive it out again.
